How does Green Plus Work?

Biofriendly’s Fuel Catalyst Completes ASTM “No Harm” Tests, Results Show Improved Power Output and Cooler Burn

Bradbury, CA—January 30, 2003 – Biofriendly Corporation announced today that its Green Plus liquid fuel combustion catalyst recently completed rigorous American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) tests. The tests, which were conducted with diesel fuel by an internationally recognized independent research and testing laboratory in the U.S., concluded that Green Plus causes no harm to engines or engine components. In addition, the results demonstrated that diesel with the Green Plus fuel catalyst produced improved power output and a cooler burn.

“We’re gratified by the results of this test,” commented Dr. Colin Hill, Biofriendly’s Chief Scientist. “Independent tests have proved that Green Plus does not change the chemical or physical properties of standard #2 diesel, and that it does not impair the performance of filter media, gaskets, seals and other engine components.”

Under development for over 10 years, Green Plus is a new product that employs nanotechnology (working at the molecular level) to achieve a breakthrough combination of improved fuel economy and reduced emissions. The product, which has undergone rigorous testing in the United States and Europe, has had over 50 million miles of on-road/on-ocean use. Customer experience and tests have shown fuel economy improvements of 7% or more and harmful emissions reductions of 25% or more.

The tests, which were performed according to American Society for Testing and Materials standards, evaluated chemical properties, corrosion, lubricity and water tolerance, filter media degradation and elastomer reaction. The results comparing diesel with and diesel without Green Plus showed a decrease in the flash point of 10 degrees Fahrenheit and an increase in the cetane index of .7%.  “These changes are consistent with our data that Green Plus causes a smoother and cooler burn and improves the power output per unit of fuel,” said Dr. Hill. “As a result, Green Plus improves fuel economy and reduces emissions.”
