How does Green Plus Work?


Arafura Container Ship Fuel Economy Results - Complete Voyages

The data on the chart and graph below compares the fuel consumption of the main engine of the Arafura during complete voyages. Complete voyages could be up to ten stops and 11,000 miles of long and short sea trips per voyage.

This graph shows fuel consumption in miles per ton for voyages 83 to 107

 - First Period: Voyages 83-87 were used as a baseline
 - Second Period: Voyages 89-97 showed a 9.1% improvement in fuel economy
 - Third Period: Voyages 98-105 showed a decrease in fuel economy without Green Plus
 - Fourth Period: Voyages 106-107 showed a 6.6% improvement in fuel economy with Green Plus back in the fuel

The improvements shown in the Arafura are seen despite a route change and an average increase in operating speed in the third and fourth periods
