NEWS RELEASE Biofriendly’s Green Plus Fuel Catalyst Helps Fetzer Vineyards Reduce Fuel Costs and Improve the Environment
Fetzer has been an environmental leader in the wine industry and has helped establish industry standards for organic farming, sustainable business practices and waste reduction. A member of the California Trucking Association, Fetzer operates a fleet of tractor-trailer trucks as well as vineyard farming equipment. “After treating our diesel fuel supply with Green Plus for the past six months, Fetzer Vineyards has experienced nothing but positive effects,” said Keith Oakley, Manager Trucking and Transportation. “On average the efficiency of our fleet increased 6.6%. This translates to a savings of 1.5 cents per mile traveled after factoring in the cost of Green Plus. This is a significant savings to the company.” “Just as important,” Oakley added, “our trucks produced less NOx (Nitrogen oxides), eliminating much of the haze from the exhaust. This helps us support our commitment to running a green company.” In addition, Fetzer has been testing the use of biodiesel fuel (fuel made from biomass products such as soybean oil) at a mixture rate of 20% biodiesel and 80% standard diesel. “A couple of our tractor trucks had been running biodiesel B-20 without the addition of Green Plus. Unfortunately, those trucks experienced a drop in MPG (miles per gallon) and NOx emissions remained high even though all other tailpipe emissions were reduced. After adding Green Plus, NOx was reduced and MPG improved to a point above regular diesel fuel economy.” Under development for over 10 years, Green Plus is a new product that employs nanotechnology (working at the molecular level) to achieve a breakthrough combination of improved fuel economy and reduced emissions. Green Plus is a liquid combustion catalyst that is added in very small quantities to fuel in order to create a more complete, cooler and more linear burn.
